When Lotta Nieminen Turned Dadaism

President Rodrigo Duterte throughout his term has been described by some political analysts as a “Political Clown” by being the outrageous person in the room, throwing temper tantrums, and attracting interests for the wrong reasons. Ever since the lockdown started last year (2020) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, his weekly state of the nation address has been described as watching late-night talk shows given that punctuality is certainly not the President's strongest suit, and putting on a show and being dramatic as an act of misdirection and to confuse people, therefore, branding his regime as a “Political Circus.”

Now that the 2022 election in the Philippines is fast approaching, this reinterpreted art using some of the works of Graphic Designer Lotta Nieminen and some images found online of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte aims to echo the characteristics of Dadaism and views on the current status of the Philippine politics as previous described, with a focus on the Duterte Administration and his avid supporters known as Diehard Duterte Supporters or DDS.
